The Exit Is That Way – Three Players Rangers Should Get Rid Off This Summer

Three Rangers Players Who Could Be Shown The Exit Door This Summer

Rangers’ summer recruitment is moving at supersonic speed right now and sooner or later they will need to create room in their squad (and add money to the coffers).

Last season, even with the best from the fans, the board and the last two people to manage the team, there was a severe lack of quality at Ibrox. Pedro Caixinha has done all he can to add that quality now, but the general level is not good enough as of yet and part of achieving their goals is for the club to carry on dispensing those who are incapable of truly representing the most successful club on the planet.

Clint Hill, Phillipe Senderos, and Joe Garner have already left, but here we look at three more who could leave imminently.

Rob Kiernan

The former Wigan defender eventually found himself behind Danny Wilson, Clint Hill and young David Bates at the end of last season and now Rangers have brought in Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso for this position, seemingly leaving Kiernan without a job.

There has been interest in recent days from Simon Grayson of Preston North End and, assuming he doesn’t leave to take the Sunderland job, the former Villa man would love to take Kiernan back to the north west of England.  That would be a good move for the player and therefore a rare win-win for him and the club.

Niko Kranjcar

The Croat has been a disaster in terms of form and injuries. The club need a real favour from him, which is to prove his fitness in order for them to be able to sell him off and receive some cash. If they fail, he can see out a highly paid contract over the next year before leaving for free.

Martyn Waghorn

Perhaps others would feature higher on the ‘unwanted’ list for some supporters, but considering the influence the experienced winger has on the squad and the wage he earns, it would be wise to part ways with him now, to clear the decks somewhat.

Daniel Candeias has been signed to play on the right-hand side of the attack and will go straight into the first XI, leaving Waghorn without a position in the short term. This suggests Caixinha is willing to let the former Sunderland and Leicester man go and he will at least bring in a reasonable fee.
