Arsenal pulled off a dramatic 2-1 victory over league leaders Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium. Jamie Vardy opened the scoring for the visitors with a penalty late in the first half, When Nacho Monreal seemed to have tripped the English forward inside the box. In the second half Danny Simpson saw red for two bookings in the space of 7 minutes, before substitute Theo Walcott got the Gunners level. For most of the second half, Arsenal kept on attacking Leicester’s goal without any result. However, Welback making his first appearance in over 10 months, glanced a Mesut Ozil freekick past Leicester keeper to score the winner in injury time.

Petr Cech

Was called into action very early on, when he had to deny Vardy with a superb low save. Didn’t have much to do in the second half as Arsenal were on the front foot, still he provided a good line of backup. 8/10

Nacho Monreal

He put in some decent crosses into the box but struggled when Vardy or Mahrez ran at him. Conceded a penalty with a mistimed tackle from which Vardy scored, albeit a harsh decision from the referee. 6/10

Hector Bellerin

Beaten in the air by Vardy early on but was rescued by Cech. Played most of the second half as a right winger, as Arsenal looked for a winner. His Speed always provided that outlet from the back. 8/10

Per Mertesacker

Returned to the starting lineup after Gabriel got injured. Many thought he would struggle against the speed of Vardy and Mahrez but was generally smart enough to use his anticipation and experience to deal with. Missed a great chance in the second half. 8/10

Laurent Koscielny

A rash challenge on Kante just before Leicester won the penalty ought to have brought out the red. An injury forced him off in the Half time. 6/10

Francis Coquelin

Returned to the starting XI after making substitute appearances in the previous two matches. Was subbed off in the second half as Arsenal searched for the winner. Pretty neutral performance. 7/10

Aaron Ramsey

A frustrating afternoon for the Welsh player, should have scored with the numerous opportunities he got in the second half. However he worked tirelessly in the middle of the field, connecting the play from the back to the front. 7/10

Mesut Ozil

Man of the match, got himself another assist after he delivered a perfect freekick from which Welback scored late on. He created six chances and kept possession well. 9/10

Alexis Sanchez

A disappointing afternoon for the Chilean as he missed a number of chances to put the ball in the back of the net. However, his insane work ethic kept the Leicester defenders busy all afternoon. Is struggling for form right now. 6/10

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

He had a solid game, undoubtedly buoyed by the goal he scored last week against the Cherries. Created an excellent chance for Sanchez. Looks to be growing in confidence and when Sanchez is off color, they need him firing. 8/10

Olivier Giroud

His finishing remains very inconsistent, missed a couple of great chances to win the match for Arsenal. Although he did provide a beautiful headed assist for Walcott’s goal. 7/10
