The next crop of English youngsters are good to go, after a rather poor showing in the last U21 Euro championship in Israel, the team has had a bit of an overhaul and now features a lot of exciting players, most of whom do not actually have a lot of experience playing for a big club and more importantly not having to worry about making their appearance for the Senior team. Good, young English talent might have gone a little dry since the day of the Gerrards and Beckhams but these youngsters are trying to prove otherwise as we look at the next batch of big stars waiting to take over the Premier League.

Calum Chambers – Arsenal

Purchased at the start of this season from Southampton, this has been a stop-start season for Chambers. Although he has shown that he is capable of playing in the big league and does not seem out of place, he still needs a few more games and experience to be considered a good option for the Gunners. He has been capped by England but more importantly, he could play a huge role for Arsenal next season.

Eric Dier – Tottenham Hotspur

Another young English defender who has suddenly shot up this season, Dier was bought by Tottenham from Sporting Lisbon and while he might have never played in the Premier League, he has looked brilliant during his few months in England. The 21-year-old has been a solid defender for Spurs who does score the occasional goal and he still has not been capped by the English senior team.

James Ward-Prowse – Southampton

A star from the Southampton academy, even though the club has lost a lot of players, Ward-Prowse has been one of the best players this season for the club. He has shown that he is ready to take up the mantle of the missing players and has been a reason why Southampton could still make it to Europe via the Europa League.

Will Hughes – Derby County

Sometime back, a lot of big clubs actually wanted to purchase Hughes and his club had set an asking price of £15 million for his services. The midfielder is highly rated and has been one of the reasons why Derby are in a shout of returning to the Premier League, Hughes still needs a bit more work on becoming physically stronger on the ball but his control and ability are second to none in his age group.

Nathan Redmond – Norwich City

Redmond might have had a tough first season at Norwich City that ended with relegation, but that did not mean he left the club in search of Premier League football, the young winger has been a great addition for Norwich city thanks to his pace and trickery. He has been one of their best players this season as they try to make it back to the Premier League through the playoffs.
