Arsenal claimed successive victories in the Premier League as they beat Cardiff City 3-2 in Wales to get their campaign back on track. It was a really feisty game with the home team making it very tough for Unai Emery’s men to have total control of the match.
Shkodran Mustafi opened the scoring for Arsenal with a wonderful header from a corner and Cardiff equalised at the stroke of half-time when the ball pinned around the box to eventually fall into the feet of Victor Camarasa, who slotted home calmly.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang rasped in a fabulous curling effort to restore the Gunners’ lead, which was cancelled out by Danny Ward’s excellent goal. The result was decided when Alexandre Lacazette’s lovely near post finish nine minutes from time.
Another game where Cech looked nervous with the ball at his feet. Nearly gifted the opener to Cardiff in the sixth minute. Emery must be worried about him now.
Solid game from the Spaniard, who always looked threatening going forward. Covered the ground well when required.
A thumping header to open the scoring but was uncomfortable against Danny Ward at times.
A decent display from the Greek apart from a few slack and inaccurate passes from the back.
Could have done well to clear the danger for Cardiff’s first goal. Was an outlet for Arsenal’s attacks but looked a little edgy defensively.
Produced a good delivery for Mustafi to open the scoring. However, the Swiss was very slack with his passing and gifted away the possession for Cardiff’s equaliser.
A work-man like performance from the youngster who is developing well as a player. Good in passing but sometimes too eager to impress.
Started the game well and showed some bright play. Faded in the second half when the game was on the edge.
A quiet start to the game but came into his own in the second period as he came more central to influence the build-up. Played a part in Aubameyang’s goal.
The Gabonese international blew hot and cold during the game, but provided a moment of magic with an exquisite finish early in the second half.
Unlucky not to score in the first half when he hit the crossbar. Scored from a tight angle to essentially win the game for Arsenal.
Came on and provided energy in the midfield. Played a beautiful pass for Lacazette to score the winner.
No time to impact the game.
