Bournemouth Player Ratings vs Crystal Palace – Here’s how the Cherries fared

Bournemouth got back to winning ways by beating Crystal Palace 2-1 after Junior Stanislas scored a late penalty at the Vitality stadium. David Brooks opened the scoring for the Cherries very early in the game, only for Patrick van Aanholt to equalise after half-time.

This win puts Eddie Howe’s men at seventh position on the table, two points off the top four. Meanwhile, Palace are struggling after a good start to the season. They are at 13th place in the table with just seven points from seven games.

Bournemouth Player Ratings

Asmir Begovic (6.5)

Couldn’t have done much to save van Aanholt’s goal. Apart from that, he was secure and calm at the back.

Simon Francis (6)

A typical Francis performance with determination to contribute to the team on both fronts.

Nathan Ake

Nathan Ake (8)

A fantastic performance from the centre-back who dominated the Palace attackers.

Steve Cook (7)

Was solid and secure at the back alongside Ake. They are forming a good partnership.

Adam Smith (6.5)

Just like his full-back partner, Smith tried hard to move forward and contribute to the attack. He also diligently tracked the runs.

David Brooks (6.5)

An outstanding goal from the youngster to open the scoring on the night. But when Palace improved in the second half, he struggled a bit.

David Brooks

Jefferson Lerma (6.5)

Was involved in many duels in the midfield. Won the penalty late on when Mamadou Sakho elbowed him in a set-piece situation.

Lewis Cook (6)

An under the radar performance from Cook who went about doing his business in the central areas of the pitch.

Ryan Fraser (6.5)

Not his best display of the season, but he still is a threat to any defence in the Premier League.

Josh King (6)

Struggled to impact the game as much as he would have liked to. Was subbed off late on.

Ryan Fraser

Callum Wilson (7)

Assisted the first goal and gave his all to trouble the Palace defenders. A hard-working performance from the striker.

Substitutes

Dan Gosling (Subbed on after 58 mins) (6)

Came on to provide midfield security to the Cherries. He did just that after a good spell from the visitors. Unlucky not to score because his bullet header was well saved by Wayne Hennessey.

Junior Stanislas (Subbed on after 84 mins) (6)

The best possible late impact – scored the penalty which won his team the game.
