Strongest Tottenham Line Up To Face Southampton Amidst Suspensions – Lamela, Son And Mason To Start

Share

After a frustrating draw against Chelsea last time out, Tottenham will be looking to come back in their usual form as they will be hosting Ronald Koeman’s Southamptom.

Tottenham were leading at Stamford Bridge in their last game, but were held by the defending champions. The draw resulted in a celebration for Leicester City as they won the premier league title with 2 games to spare. Tottenham will still be looking to give a tough fight for the remaining games and also would be looking to keep hold on to their 2nd spot in the table. The side will be hosting Southampton who recently thrashed Manchester City with a surprising score line of 4 goals to 2.

The last time these two sides met, it was Tottenham who clinched the victory from Southampton at White Hart Lane and the side will be looking to replicate their previous result in the following fixture.

Looking at their recent results, it is Southampton who holds a strong hand in the fixture as they have managed to grab 13 points from a possible 18 by winning 4 of their last six games. Tottenham, on the other hand, have 11 points from their last 6 games, where they have won 3 of their last six games, and have drawn thrice.

Here is the Predicted Lineup for Tottenham that could face Southampton-

Goalkeeper: Hugo Lloris-

The French shot stopper has been phenomenal in the entire season and is battling to grab the Golden Glove award for 2015-16 season. Looking at Sadio Mane’s recent form, he has to be on his toes as the Senegalese will be looking to put a mark in this game too.

Defender: Walker; Vertonghen; Alderweireld; Rose-

Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld have suffered a concussion in training, but the team is confident of their return. Alderweireld didn’t have a great game against Chelsea as he was held by Diego Costa on a number of occasions. Walker and Vertonghen are on a great form this season and will surely start the next game for the team. Danny Rose was booked in the game against Chelsea for a silly challenge on Willian and was lucky to stay on the pitch, he has been a delight to watch in the entire campaign, and might start in the next game as well.

Midfielders: Lamela; Dier; Mason; Eriksen; Son-

Lamela has been hitting top form lately and it won’t be a shock to see him playing against Southamtopm. Dier was surprisingly very rough in the game against Chelsea and was booked as well. Ryan Mason could step up on the field to replace the void of Dembele who will be missing the game due to a suspension. Son scored the second goal for the side in the last game, but was not at all effective in the second half of the game. However, wth Dele Alli still missing, the Korean could start the next game as well. Eriksen is such a joy to watch when he is on the ball. Set up two great goals for the side against Chelsea, but was held by the defence in the second half.

Striker: Harry Kane-

Scored his 25th goal of the campaign against the defending champions. He has been exceptional throughout the season and sill surely lead the attacking line for the side in the next game as well.
