Strongest Possible Tottenham XI To Face Arsenal – Dembele To Start, Lamela On The Bench

Share

The biggest night of the club’s Premier League history so far and Spurs don’t show up. They faltered under pressure when they showed signs of exactly the opposite the whole of the season. A loss away to West Ham isn’t really the best preparation for the North London Derby but Arsenal isn’t really in top form either. 3 continuous losses and an increasing, ever growing injury list makes Arsenal really plucking each hair strand to send a strong enough eleven to contain the pressure football that Spurs play.

Hugo Lloris won’t be happy with the loss in mid week and as club captain he must be hoping for a rejuvenation this weekend. What better way to show that its not all deflated by winning against arch rivals..

Kyle Walker and Danny Rose will take their places back in the defence. Alderweireld and Wimmer should continue as they have done very less wrong and Vertonghen is still out through injury.

Dembele has an outside chance of playing in the XI, according to Pochettino. Spurs should really take the slightest chance and play him if possible. They look a more formidable unit when he is in the team. Along with Eric Dier, the central mid is as strong as one can imagine. Delle Alli who is also recovering quite rapidly should feature right behind the striker.

Although, latest reports from Evening Standard suggests that the pair of Alli and Dier are a doubt, so I’m a little skeptical about the two midfield slots.

Son should start ahead of Lamela as the Argentine played two games in a row and Pochettino will be looking to have his fittest players on the pitch. Eriksen is the final member of the trio behind the striker. The Dane has found form and will be crucial that he bulges the net as well.

One outfield goal in last 8 games shows that fatigue has hit young Harry. Sadly for Spurs there isn’t an outright back up available for Kane. But he has always enjoyed scoring against local rivals, Arsenal. A goal in the North London Derby would be an immediate confidence boost for Kane and could be the catalyst that he needs in the final run to the Premier League title.

A strong and feisty affair, NLDs are usually. I expect nothing else this time as well. Spurs should use the advantage of better form and home ground to win it. I predict a close 2-1 win for Spurs.
