After a 3-0 loss to Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Manchester United travel to Goodison Park to face EvertonHow will the Red Devils line-up for the clash? Here is their likely starting XI.

Goalkeeper: David de Gea

It is certain that Spanish custodian David de Gea will be in front of the goal ahead of Argentine Sergio Romero.

Defenders: Matteo Darmian, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Ashley Young

After losing 3-0 to Arsenal in the last game week, Manchester United’s defence received a lot of criticisms. Still manager Louis Van Gaal will stick to his choices from the previous matches. New signing Matteo Darmian will play as the right-back while Ashley Young will play in the left after the first choice left-backs Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo were ruled out due to their respective injuries. In spite of Phil Jones returning to full fitness, Englishman Chris Smalling and Netherlands’ Daley Blind will be the two central defenders. Van Gaal can also bring stability to the defence by pushing Blind to the left and make Jones accompany Smalling as the CB.

Daley Blind

Midfielders: Bastian Schweinsteiger, Morgan Schneiderlin, Juan Mata, Wayne Rooney, Memphis Depay

German International Bastian Schweinsteiger and Frenchman Morgan Schneiderlin will be the two holding midfielders ahead of Micheal Carrick. Once again, skipper Wayne Rooney will be playing as the number 10 and this could see Spaniard Ander Herrera starting from the bench. Rooney will have assistance from Spanish wizard Juan Mata and Dutch youngster Memphis Depay from both the sides.

Forward: Anthony Martial

Manchester United’s deadline day signing Anthony Martial has cemented his place as a regular starter courtesy of his brilliant run and Rooney’s poor form. Martial looked dangerous for the opposition defence in front of the goals and showed what he is capable of ever since making his debut against Liverpool. Martial will start as the lone striker for Manchester United.
