Strongest Possible Arsenal XI to Face Olympiakos: Ox and Koscielny to Start

Arsenal are on a great form in the English Premier League. But the same cannot be said of their performances in the UEFA Champions League. The Gunners need to win by at least 2 goals to qualify for the Round of 16. Adding to their woes is the huge injury list that the Londoners are facing. Their front-line players Alexis Sanchez, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Jack Wilshere are among the seven Arsenal players who are our injured. Amidst the crisis, Wenger will look to field a strong squad for the clash. Let us take a look at how the Gunners could line up for the all-important match.

Wenger will not take a risk by playing David Ospina in front of the goal and it is certain that Petr Cech will be the goalkeeper for the Gunners in the all-important game. The Arsenal defence is unlikely to see any big changes to face Olympiakos. Once again Spain’s Hector Bellerin, who is having a great season with the Gunners will start as the right-back while his Spanish compatriot Nacho Monreal will play on the left. Wenger will take no risk of playing Gabriel and will start the experienced duo of Koscielny and Mertesacker.

Midfield is an area of concern for Arsene Wenger as Santi Cazorla and Francis Coquelin, who have formed a deadly partnership in the central midfield were injured. Their absence means, Wenger has no other option other than playing Mathieu Flamini and Aaron Ramsey in front of the defence. Mesut Ozil will start as the number 10 behind the striker and there might be a huge surprise in the starting XI with Joel Campbell and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain playing in the wings. The only attacking option available for Wenger is Olivier Giroud and he will start as the striker.
