Strongest Possible 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Line Up This Season When Everyone Is Fit

Share

A 2-0 victory over the hot favorites for the Premier League title, Manchester City, at the weekend gave Tottenham Hotspur an impressive end to the league ahead of the international break this month. Mauricio Pochettino’s side are the only side in the Premier League yet to lose a game and with the quality in the squad, it is hardly surprising. The manager was able to set up a title challenge last season when clubs around him were struggling but this season, the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool are also settled and will be in contention to lift the title. So it is important for Pochettino to field his best XI in almost every game. But what is the Argentine’s strongest XI at White Hart Lane?  Here is what can be called the strongest lineup for the Spurs provided every player in the squad is fit:

Hugo Lloris:

The French shot-stopper is one of the best players in his position in the league and though Michel Vorm has been decent in his absence, Lloris should be the undisputed number 1 at the Lane.

Kyle Walker:

The England international is currently busy with the national squad playing in the same position as the club and his experience at the highest level will help Tottenham in their path to glory. Surely, he is the best right-back in the league this season.

Toby Alderweireld:

Arguably one of the best defenders in the league, Alderweireld has been a man mountain this season keeping more than a couple of clean sheets in the league already. He will start at the heart of the defense for the side this season.

Jan Vertonghen:

Another top class center half who has also filled in at fullback this season, Vertonghen is one of the best defenders at the club and he will start most games for the side at the back.

Danny Rose:

Another regular for the England national squad, Rose, has been one of the best full-backs in the league this season. Though the manager has decent back-ups in the squad, he should be the first choice for the side this season.

Eric Dier:

The 22-year old is a utility player who can play more than one role for the side but he is at his best in a defensive midfield position and should start there for Tottenham on a regular basis.

Mousa Dembele:

The Belgian international is a top class midfielder who is among the best in Europe. Recent injuries have hampered his progress but when fit, he will be one of the first names on the team-sheet for the Spurs.

Dele Alli:

England’s next big thing, Dele Alli has started the season with a bang and is adept at playing an attacking or a defensive role giving Pochettino many options. He should also be a regular starter at the White Hart Lane.

Christian Eriksen:

Though not at his best early this season, the Danish international is one of the most exciting players at the club and his presence in the side adds an extra edge to the squad in crunch games.

Heung-Min Son:

After a less than impressive debut season at the club, the South Korean is now showing his true colors and has been one of the best players for the side this campaign. In current form, he should start regularly for the Spurs.

Harry Kane:

The star man for Pochettino, Harry Kane is currently injured and not available till the middle of November. But when fit, he is the player who gets the team going in the final third and will be a constant presence in the side.
