Strongest Manchester United Line-up to Face Everton – Unleash The Samurai Shinji, and Bench Fellaini

Share

NOTE: We apologize for the misleading title, the match is against Everton (next week) and not Hull City. The Match has been postponed since Hull City play in FA cup this weekend.

Manchester United starting lineup against Everton

After a valiant effort at the Allianz Arena, it seemed as a task insurmountable at the end. Bayern handed Manchester United a 3-1 defeat in Munich to end David Moyes’ side challenge in the Champions league. The Red Devils now turn attention in the Premier League as they take on Everton away next week. United are seven points adrift the Champions League spot and look set to miss out on Europe’s elite competition next season. As we build up for the game, Soccersouls provides its readers with United’s strongest possible lineup against Everton.

Goalkeeping and Defence

David De Gea could have been barely blamed for all the three goals that Bayern scored on Wednesday night. The Spaniard can look forward to a well deserved rest as Moyes can field De Gea’s understudy Andres Lindegaard in goal for the weekend. Lindegaard was in great form last weekend as he single handedly denied Newcastle striker Pappis Cisse   from scoring at the Sports Direct Arena last week.

Phil Jones

Phil Jones should start in the right back slot if Rafael isn’t fully fit while Patrice Evra should start in the left back spot. The Frenchman gave United the lead with a thunderous effort in Munich but looked anonymous well after scoring and he was guilty for letting Mandzukic free, and the Croatian restored parity in a matter of seconds.  Nemanja Vidic should start in the centre back spot with Chris Smalling, who looked in great shape in recent games, should take his place in the centre of the defense.

Midfield:

Carrick

Both Micheal Carrick and Darren Fletcher provide United the solidity in the middle and should start from the first whistle. Maroune Felliani has looked a shadow of his former self of his Everton days, should be dropped from the starting eleven. Juan Mata will be back in the side playing in his favourite number ten role while his pairing with Shinji Kagawa looks fostering in the attacking third. The Japanese who was United’s noteworthy mention in Germany should start from the left wings gradually, drifting in to provide balls for the strikers up front. Valencia, who is showing good form in recent weeks should start from right ahead of Nani and Young.

Strikeforce:

Chicharito

Wayne Rooney worked hard and showed heart against Bayern Munich but could not find the spark to lift the mediocrity prevailing, despite carrying an injury. Moyes should play safe and rest Rooney for the game. Danny Welbeck is more pacier than Javier Hernandez up front but the Mexican have that amazing goal poaching instinct to get goals at the right time. Hence, Chicharito should get a starting ticket from David Moyes.

Manchester United Predicted Line-up vs Everton
