Arsenal 1-0 Huddersfield: Torreira stunner keeps Gunners unbeaten

Arsenal continued their unbeaten run in the league after they narrowly scraped past Huddersfield Town 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium. It was always going to be a tough game for the Gunners after two high-intensity matches in quick succession.

They couldn’t break the Terriers down until the 83rd minute when Lucas Torreira scored the winner acrobatically to seal three points. The build-up to that goal was superb. It all started with Matteo Guendouzi finding Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang with a pinpoint cross-field ball. The latter got the ball under control sumptuously before being denied any space to shoot at goal.

However, the Gabonese had the awareness to clip the ball towards Torreira, who was unmarked centrally. The Uruguayan then made no mistake. The win means the Gunners are unbeaten now in 21 games across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Huddersfield went back to the drop zone, 18th at the moment with 10 points, two adrift of safety.

It was a nasty game at times, especially in the first half, with players from both sides making border-line challenges. As many as 33 fouls were committed in the match but thankfully there was a no sending off!

The away side had a couple of chances to test Bernd Leno but they couldn’t sustain the pressure enough to dislodge the Arsenal defence. On the other hand, the Gunners deserved three points simply because they contributed more to the game in the final third.

Here’s how the Arsenal fans reacted to this win on Twitter:
