Tottenham Hotspur will take on Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United in what could potentially be the club’s last ever game at the White Hart Lane on Sunday.
The North Londoners were dealt a bitter blow to their Premier League title hopes after they were handed a 1-0 defeat by West Ham United last week. They now sit 7 points behind leaders Chelsea with three games left. While there may be a mathematical possibility for Tottenham to still win the title, it is unlikely to see Chelsea slip up. However, Mauricio Pochettino’s men will want to sign off from the White Hart Lane on a high and there would be no better way to do so than a victory against United.
Harry Winks and Erik Lamela are the only two absentees for Tottenham. Danny Rose has been fit for two weeks now and may well get a chance to make an appearance from the bench in the final game at White Hart Lane.
The Frenchman will look to add another clean sheet to his tally with an eye on the Golden Glove award at the end of the season.
The 23-year old will return to a centre-half role with Pochettino likely to revert to a three-man backline for Sunday’s encounter.
Had a rare bad day against West Ham last weekend. Will want to rectify that with a strong performance in the final home game of the season.
The 30-year old Belgian international will occupy the final slot in the three-man defence for Tottenham.
With all the speculations surrounding Kyle Walker’s exit, and his poor showing against the Hammers last time around, it is likely that Trippier will get a game on Sunday.
The summer signing will be designated with the task of keeping the likes of Paul Pogba quiet in the middle of the park.
After having made two appearances from the bench post his return from injury, the Belgian may well return to the starting XI against United.
The Welshman has been more than an able backup for Danny Rose in his absence. Pochettino will most likely stick with Davies in the line-up and give Rose some minutes from the bench.
The Danish international runs the show in the attacking third for Tottenham. Will be crucial to their chances of getting a good result against United.
