St. Johnstone vs. Celtic: Predicted Starting Lineup For The Bhoys

Share

Celtic’s European journey came to an end after a 1-1 draw away at Fenerbahce. The Hoops will now be turning their minds back to the Scottish Premier League and travel away to St. Johnstone. Celtic had defeated the side 3-1 but St. Johnstone have been in great form having won nine out of their last eleven games.

Celtic though are also in a great run and have won nine games in a row in the league and will be looking to carry that form at St. Johnstone. Carlton Cole could make it back into the lineup this weekend but he probably will be on the bench and come on when Celtic need a bit more firepower at the end of the game.

We look ahead to the clash and predict the starting lineup for the Hoops.

Craig Gordon

The Scottish goalkeeper should keep his place in the starting XI; there really is no one better than him at the moment.

Mikael Lustig

Lustig should keep his place as the right-back for Celtic as they look to continue their winning run away from home.

Jozo Simunovic

The central defender might not have made too many appearances this season but he is showing signs that he is the main man at the heart of the defence for the Bhoys and should keep his role despite playing in midweek.

Dedryck Boyata

Boyata should partner Jozo in the heart of defence and the Belgian will be looking to provide another strong performance.

Kieran Tierney

The left-back has been able to keep Izaguirre out of the team and another solid performance beckons for the impressive Tierney with the holiday fixtures coming up soon.

Scott Allan

The Scottish player did alright in midweek and should continue in the team against St. Johnstone as well.

Nir Bitton

Bitton will be the defensive midfielder who will be out to stop the opposition and hopefully he can have another decent game for Celtic.

Stuart Armstrong

The 23-year-old should continue in his role down the midfield and hopefully he can put in a great performance on Saturday.

Tom Rogic

The Australian came on in the second half against the Turkish club and he could get a start against St. Johnstone this weekend.

Callum McGregor

McGregor might have played the entire game against the Turkish club in midweek but will be hopeful of continuing his role in the team this weekend as well.

Leigh Griffiths

The Scottish forward should continue in his role as the lone striker for the Hoops.
