Son And Aurier To Start – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Tottenham Line-up To Face Swansea City In The PL

Predicted Tottenham Line-up To Face Swansea City In The Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur have found some decent form after a shaky start to the season and managed to put on a show against Borussia Dortmund in the first game of the group stage of the Champions League earlier this week. They are back in action this weekend and face Swansea City at Wembley. Mauricio Pochettino will be happy with nothing less than three points.

The Swans were beaten by Newcastle United in their previous game but they have enough quality to trouble Spurs in their own backyard this weekend. However, the London outfit are expected to field their strongest side in search of a victory.

Team News

Tottenham have a few injuries ahead of this tie. Midfielder Victor Wanyama, full-back Danny Rose and attacker Eric Lamela are all out injured and are not expected to get a game anytime soon. Pochettino has an otherwise fit squad to choose from.

Here’s how Tottenham might line up against Swansea City

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Mauricio Pochettino

GK – Hugo Lloris

The French shot-stopper is the first choice for Pochettino and is expected to keep his place in the side for this tie.

RB – Serge Aurier

After a sensational showing in the UCL, Aurier should get a chance to start in the league, pushing Trippier to the bench.

Hugo Lloris

CB – Toby Alderweireld

The experienced Belgian is expected to shoulder the responsibilities of keeping the Swansea attackers at bay all game.

CB – Jan Vertonghen

Partnering him should be his compatriot, Vertonghen, who will hope to have an easy game at the weekend.

LB – Ben Davies

Davies has not turned into the first choice left-back for Spurs and he should keep his place in the side, for the game against the Swans.

CM – Eric Dier

The English midfielder has been used extensively in this role, thanks to the absence of Wanyama, and he should continue to hold the fort this weekend as well.

Eric Dier

CM – Mousa Dembele

The Belgian playmaker will have to play a huge role in the middle of the park against a Swansea side that is showing decent grit all around the field.

RW – Christian Eriksen

The Danish super star is expected to play on the right flank and he will hope to create chances consistently, in what could be a test of character for Spurs.

CAM – Dele Alli

The youngster has already established himself as one of the best in the business and will be a huge threat to the visitors this weekend.

Dele Alli

LW – Heung-Min Son

Lack of options should see Son start on the left wing in the attack. Pochettino will hope that he can use his pace and creativity to break the Swansea defence.

ST – Harry Kane

The star striker will easily be the biggest test for Swansea and he will fancy himself to get on the score sheet yet again, this weekend.
