Predicted Chelsea Line-up To Face Arsenal In The Premier League

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea started their Champions League campaign with a 6-0 victory over a top tier club from Azerbaijan, not too long after registering a victory over Leicester City in the domestic league. The Blues have found winning form already, early this season and will be looking to continue their good run this weekend.

However, it will not be an easy task for them as they will welcome local foes Arsenal in what is easily the game of the weekend. The Gunners are fresh from a victory in the Europa League but have had just a couple of days between the two games, two less than what Chelsea got. However, Arsene Wenger will have his plans and will hope to make Conte’s work that much harder.

Team News

Danny Drinkwater picked up a calf injury and missed the UCL game earlier this week but Conte can expect him to recover in time for this tie and so he might find a place on the bench. He remains the only doubt for this game. Defender Gary Cahill is also available for this tie after completing his suspension.

Formation: 3-4-3

Manager: Antonio Conte

GK – Thibaut Courtois

The Belgian shot stopper is expected to keep his place between the sticks against a decent Arsenal side this weekend.

CB – Cesar Azpilicueta

The Spaniard is one of the most consistent defenders in the league and should start on the right-hand side of the back-3 for Chelsea.

David Luiz

CB – David Luiz

The experienced Brazilian will have a tough task of keeping the likes of Alexandre Lacazette quiet in this crunch tie.

CB – Antonio Rudiger

The newbie for Chelsea, Rudiger has settled in well but could be the weak link for the Blues in this London derby.

RWB – Victor Moses

Though Zappacosta has been decent, Conte might not take any risks and could use Moses at wing-back, thanks to his experience in that role.

CM – Tiemoue Bakayoko

The French midfielder is expected to put on a solid show in the middle of the park and needs to be at his best for Chelsea to take all three points from this game.

CM – N’Golo Kante

Arguably the best midfielder in England at the moment, Kante has been excellent this season once again and will be a thorn in the free-flowing football that Arsenal will want to play at the Bridge.

LWB – Marcos Alonso

The Spaniard has hardly put a foot wrong so far this season and will hope to have an effective game at both ends of the field.

RW – Pedro

The Spanish star should be preferred over Willian, allowing the Brazilian winger to act as a super-sub if needed.

Alvaro Morata

LW – Eden Hazard

The Belgian ace made his comeback with a bang in the Champions League encounter and Conte cannot afford to not start him in the crunch tie this weekend.

ST – Alvaro Morata

With Batshuayi the only other option, Conte should stick with Morata, who has already found some sensational form in his first season in England.
