Coutinho Out, Sturridge To Start – Strongest Liverpool Line Up To Face Burnley In The PL

Predicted Liverpool Line-up To Face Burnley In The Premier League

Liverpool will look to put a difficult week behind when they take on Burnley in matchweek 5 of the Premier League, on Saturday, at the Anfield.

The Reds have endured a poor past few days, having first been thrashed 5-0 by Manchester City in the Premier League last weekend, before being held to a 2-2 draw by Sevilla in their UEFA Champions League group encounter. Manager Jurgen Klopp will be keen on bouncing back from the poor results with a win against the Clarets on Saturday.

Team News

Star attacker Sadio Mane will be absent as he is suspended for 3 games following his sending off against City last weekend. Midfielder Adam Lallana continues his recovery from injury, but still isnt ready for action, while Nathaniel Clyne is set for a lengthy layoff. Injury-ridden striker Danny Ings is back in training but will not feature in this game.

Here’s how the Reds could take the field against Sean Dyche’s side on the weekend:

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

Formation: 4-3-3

Simon Mignolet (GK)

The Belgian international will return to the starting line-up in place of Loris Karius who started the European clash against Sevilla on Wednesday.

Joe Gomez (RB)

The youngster was sent off late in the game against Sevilla on Sunday, but has been decent at right-back and should keep his place ahead of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Joe Gomez

Joel Matip (CB)

The Cameroonian is a constant fixture in the backline for the Reds and is arguably the only one looking solid enough at the back.

Dejan Lovren (CB)

The biggest culprit in the midweek result, Lovren could be given a chance to redeem himself on Saturday. Given Burnley’s lack of pace in the forward line, he might actually fare better.

Alberto Moreno (LB)

Continued his revival this season with a strong display against his former side in the midweek. Should keep his spot at left-back, ahead of Andrew Robertson.

Emre Can (CM)

The German has started off the season brightly but did not have the best of the games against Sevilla. Will want to bounce back on Saturday.

Emre Can

Jordan Henderson (CM)

The captain is another constant fixture in the Liverpool line-up in the deep midfield position. Hasn’t been able to find his best form yet this season and would want to rectify that.

Georginio Wijnaldum (CM)

The Dutchman has endured a slow start, but looked like his old self during the midweek fixture. Should hold on to his starting berth.

Mohamed Salah (RW)

The Egyptian winger has added a new dimension to the Liverpool attack since his arrival in the summer. Will have added responsibilities in the absence of Sadio Mane.

Mohamed Salah

Daniel Sturridge (ST)

The England international could be all set to make his first start of the season. Scored against Arsenal before the international break and will want to make an impression if given a chance.

Roberto Firmino (LW)

The Brazilian has been brilliant for the Merseysiders up frontline, but may find himself get switched to the left-hand side with Mane suspended for the game.
