Leeds United Player Ratings vs Brentford: Here’s how the Whites fared

Leeds United left it late against Brentford as both teams played out a 1-1 draw at Elland Road. Brentford scored via Neal Maupay, who continued his fine form in front of the goal, courtesy of a controversial penalty.

The Peacocks threatened Dean Smith’s side on many occasions and ultimately found their equaliser through centre-back Pontus Jansson, who jumped the highest to head in a last-ditch free-kick. Marcelo Bielsa’s side are now 3rd in the table behind Sheffield United and West Brom.

Leeds United Player Ratings

Bailey Peacock-Farrell (7/10)

It was harsh for the goalkeeper to concede via a controversial penalty but he was confident in goal overall. He made a couple of fine saves as well.

Luke Ayling (4/10)

Ollie Watkins gave him a hard time at the back for most of the game. Ayling was unable to provide much going forward and was sent off in the final minutes.

Pontus Jansson (9/10)

Best performer for Leeds on the night. Not only did he pull one back for the Peacocks, but he was also defensively supreme.

Pontus Jansson

Liam Cooper (7/10)

He had his moments in the game but ultimately came through with a good performance.

Stuart Dallas (6/10)

A solid replacement for Douglas at left-back. He showed great work rate but was unable to provide much going forward.

Kalvin Phillips (6/10)

He was unable to pick the passes which he usually excels at. Brentford’s high pressing made it difficult for him but he was defensively good on the night.

Jack Harrison (5/10)

Was ineffective throughout the whole game and was guilty of overplaying at times.

Mateusz Klich (5/10)

He wasn’t at his best. Brentford ensured he was unable to play his part.

Samuel Saiz (6/10)

He was absent for most of the game and gave away the ball on many occasions.

Ezgjan Alioski (6/10)

His set-pieces were much better than before and he provided good deliveries.

Ezgjan Alioski

Tyler Roberts (6/10)

He was confident enough to drop as deep as the United half to pick the ball up and find space to make an impact.

Substitutes

Adam Forshaw (5/10)

Not the best of cameo appearances from Forshaw.

Lewis Baker (5/10)

Almost found the net with his first touch of the ball but it narrowly flew wide.

Jack Clarke (6/10)

Looked energetic and lively after coming on but didn’t have the time to influence the game.
