Predicted Everton line-up to face Leicester City in the Premier League

Everton will look to bounce back from the disappointing Carabao Cup elimination when they travel to Leicester City on Saturday.

Everton were knocked out of the Carabao Cup in midweek, with Southampton winning the tie on penalty shoot-outs.

Despite spending big in the summer transfer window, Marco Silva’s Toffees have performed well so far in the Premier League. On Saturday, they will be facing Leicester City, who would be high on confidence following their win over Newcastle United last weekend.

Team News

Seamus Coleman is out with a foot injury. Yerry Mina has unfortunately suffered a setback in his recovery. Andre Gomes is still out injured but Phil Jagielka has been training since last week. Meanwhile, Beni Baningime and James McCarthy are long-term absentees.

Probable Everton XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Marco Silva

Jordan Pickford (GK)

Everton’s No.1 in goal, Pickford is expected to start against Leicester this weekend.

Jonjoe Kenny (RB)

Kenny has done well at right-back ever since he came into the team following Coleman’s injury. He should keep his place in the starting XI.

Michael Keane (CB)

Keane has been playing his best football in Everton colours recently. There is no way he wouldn’t be picked for Saturday’s game.

Kurt Zouma (CB)

Partnering Keane at the heart of Everton defence should be Zouma, who would offer strength and technical ability at the back.

Lucas Digne (LB)

A rampaging left-back, Digne has made the left-back position his own with a series of impressive displays. He is a certain starter against the Foxes.

Morgan Schneiderlin (CM)

Schneiderlin is a defensive midfielder that helps anchor the backline and plays a major role during the transition from the defence to the attack.

Idrissa Gueye

Idrissa Gueye (CM)

Gueye adds a lot of steel to Everton’s midfield with his energy and strong tackling abilities. He is expected to start alongside Schneiderlin in the middle of the park.

Theo Walcott (RW)

Walcott will offer pace and dynamism to the Everton attack from the right wing. He is one of the most crucial players for Silva.

Gylfi Sigurdsson (CAM)

Sigurdsson has now started every Premier League game in his favoured position, offering creativity to Everton’s one-paced attack at times.

Richarlison

Richarlison (LW)

Starting on the left-hand side of the attack should be Richarlison, who can give the Leicester defenders a run for their money.

Cenk Tosun (ST)

Tosun would have been delighted with his goal against Fulham last weekend. He will be looking to get on the scoresheet against Leicester on Saturday.
