Why Signing This Napoli Star Would Mean Business Almost Complete For Arsenal This Summer Along With Vardy And Xhaka

Share

Last season Arsenal were lacking in the defensive department, along with a quality striker up front to go with it. Arsene Wenger tried his best in the summer transfer window to get the job of signing additional outfield players done, though he eventually failed to deliver. Further, the trio of Mikel Arteta, Tomas Rosicky and Mathieu Flamini left the club at the end of the current campaign, which depleted the Gunners’ midfield to an extent, as well.

This would mean that the French manager would need to fulfill that commitment of signing more quality stars this time around, in order to win more titles with the Premier League giants.

Keeping that in mind, the north London outfit pulled off the signing of Granit Xhaka from Borussia Monchengladbach, who is considered as one of the best players in the midfield role at present. He is just 23 years old and could have a long future at the Emirates, if nurtured properly by Wenger.

The Swiss international is a high quality star and could fill in the void at the heart of the Arsenal midfield, left by the departure of the club’s veteran players.

Further, there have been links stating that Jamie Vardy could be all set to join the club as well, with the Londoners looking to sign another additional striker. A recent report suggested that the England international has still not made up his mind and could take the decision, as to which club to join, prior to the start of the new campaign.

The Londoners desperately need another striker, whether it is Vardy or someone else. However, a player like the 29 year old Leicester City man could be a huge signing, for any damn club. The former Fleetwood Town superstar helped his side win the top flight of English football, with 24 goals and plenty of assists.

If he could replicate something similar to that for Arsenal, the club could win plenty of titles in the upcoming years as well. That should take care of a couple of department, leaving just one last problem.

Wenger was unhappy with the performances put in by Per Mertesacker and Gabriel Paulista at the back, though Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal and Hector Bellerin were all great. It has been this second center-back, which has been the weakling in his defensive unit.

Now, the Frenchman wants to change that, as he intends to win more titles in the upcoming campaign. Due to this, he has set his sights on Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly, who could start alongside Koscielny, as the first choice center-back.

The Senegal international is barely 24 years old and is 6’5″. He is quite experienced and has 60 league appearances for the Serie A outfit, scoring once. He has looked in good form in recent times and has caught the attention of Wenger, due to which there have been speculations of a possible move to England. Bet in Online Sportsbook, if you are sure that the Napoli star can succeed at Arsenal.

He would surely fit in well, into the system that is used by Wenger at the club and could be the right man to solve all the problems at the back. If the deals for Vardy and Koulibaly do happen soon, the three major issues from last season would be addressed and there would be a much better chance of winning silverware, this time around.
