Should Arsenal seal things off before May?

Share
EPL table after game-week 31

Arsenal reiterated their dominance in the whole of North London as they finished above Tottenham Hotspur last season on the final day of the Premier League thanks to the late winner from Arsenal’s French defender in Laurent Koscielny against West Bromwich Albion.

Arsenal are expected to finish above their bitter rivals in Tottenham yet again thanks to the tricky fixtures that the Spurs have ahead of them. Tottenham Hotspur still have to face Everton, Manchester City, Stoke City and Sunderland while Arsenal have comparatively weaker outfits as their opponents in the upcoming weeks.

Though Arsenal could easily scrape through their opponents in the following weeks, their fixtures in May raises a few eyebrows in doubt if they could make the unimaginable happen yet again. Arsenal have Newcastle United, Queens Park Rangers and Wigan Athletic in the final three fixtures and some Arsenal supporters might even smell nine points in their pockets at any odd day.

Newcastle United, Queens Park Rangers and Wigan Athletic are already into the relegation battle alongside Reading and Aston Villa and their managers in Alan Pardew, Harry Redknapp and especially Roberto Martinez would certainly boost their players’ self esteem at their highest to survive in the top flight of English football. As everyone is aware, Wigan Athletic automatically become giant-killers towards the end of every season and Tottenham Hotspur’s chance of finishing above Arsenal is almost equal to the Gunners’ chance of finishing above Spurs. If Arsenal wish to prove that they are the Pride of North London, they must cut the mustard well before the relegation battle picks up heat.
