In a shocking recent interview, Argentine defender Marcos Rojo has revealed that Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal only gets along with those players who listen intently to what he says. The 25-year old superstar further admitted that he is scared of the Dutchman’s ‘bulldog face’, though he did defend his manager’s personality which has been criticized by the media as Manchester United are still finding their form.

The former Sporting man’s comments have come in a week when there was a hint of mutiny in the Red Devils’ camp after Van Gaal’s regimented approach proved a real strain on their squad.

The Premier League giants are currently placed second in the table with ten points to their name, from the opening five matches of the new campaign.

However, a major improvement in the level of performances is still not eminent, though more than a season has gone by since the arrival of Van Gaal at Old Trafford.

Already, Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick have questioned some of the former Bayern Munich manager’s methods, after their slender win against Tottenham last month and now Rojo told Fox Sports Argentina, “He has a bulldog face, but he is great guy. He’s scary at first, but when you get to know him and relate to him on daily basis, you get along. But only if you listen to him.”

“He has a really strong personality, but he is a great person. He listens to us, and even speaks a little bit of Spanish, so he always takes me to his office for a pep talk.”

“The fact that he holds a bad relationship with South American player is just a feeling [opinion].”

“I’ve been there with [Antonio] Valencia, [Radamel] Falcao, Angel [Di Maria] and he treated us all the same, he never treated us differently.”

“Maybe because of his [poor] relationship with Roman [Riquelme] or with Angel leaving, some people got the wrong idea, but he treats us all the same. He is a great person and makes no differences between Europeans and South Americans.”
