It is constantly being reported that Chelsea’s striker Diego Costa might return to his old club Atletico Madrid, and now The Sun has reported that he wants to leave Chelsea and return to Atletico Madrid.
The Spanish striker joined Stamford Bridge back in 2014 and won the Premier League crown in his debut season, but the 27-year-old failed to replicate the same form in the 2015-season and due to this, he was snubbed off for Euro 2016 as well.
Further reports have claimed that Chelsea will demand at least £39m for the striker to as they bought him for £32m. It is understood that Diego Costa is Simeone’s favourable player for the position, and the Argentine manager has listed Costa in his top targets which also includes Paris Saint-Germain’s Edinson Cavani or Gonzalo Higuain of Napoli, Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon and Kevin Gameiro of Sevilla.
Chelsea’s new manager Antonio Conte is reportedly targeting Everton’s Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata of Juventus for a possible replacement for the Spaniard. Atletico Madrid’s president Enrique Cerezo believes that the deal to bring Costa back is a difficult task and stated:
“We are there, he wants to come. But that is already complicated.”
