Rangers continued their unbeaten start to the season with a dramatic 3-3 draw against Motherwell at Fir Park. Peter Hartley’s late equalizer somewhat dampened the feeling for Steven Gerrard’s men. However, it is a vital point away from home.
The Gers were twice behind in the game, for the first time in the new manager’s tenure, but showed character to come back and eventually take the lead. It was during injury time that they were denied of all three points.
Here’s how the players rated against Motherwell:
Couldn’t have done much to prevent the three goals. It was a frenetic game overall, the goals conceded were part of the fun.
Could have done better defensively, however, he contributed well while attacking. Should improve as the season progresses.
It is quite unsavoury for a centre-back to be a part of a defence that conceded three goals, meaning he should do better to stop the opposition attackers. However, Motherwell attackers played well and deserved something.
Katic did well to stop the forwards but the Croat could have done better in certain situations.
Barisic had a decent game from the left-back position, impacting on both sides of the field. Assisted a goal for Ejaria which gave Rangers the lead.
Assisted Lafferty’s second goal for the equalizer and looked good going forward.
Took his goal well but could have done much better to stamp his authority in the midfield. It was just one those games where chances were flying at both ends.
Did well alongside Ejaria to keep things ticking in the midfield. However, he should have done a bit more to control the midfield.
Not one of his greatest games as he struggled to impact the attack from the left-wing position. Was eventually subbed after 68 minutes.
Scored two goals which should make him feel good. He will certainly add an extra edge to the team in the forward line.
Wasn’t influential enough. In fact, Lafferty did exceedingly well while Morelos went under the radar for most of the game.
Came on to add fresh legs in the midfield. He did well for most of his 22-minute cameo.
Not much time to impact the game.
