Scouting For Wenger: Three Super Talents Arsenal Should Sign In Summer

Share

Three signings for Arsenal this coming summer window

Except the on loan transfer deadline signing of Swede Kim Kallstrom, Arsenal’s January transfer window was nothing but an abject failure. The Gunners are genuine title contenders and manager Arsene Wenger should have splashed the cash to strengthen his squad, instead he decided otherwise. Gunners were linked to was Schalke’s young German sensation Julian Draxler, but any sort of a deal failed to materialize. Whether or not Wenger’s boys will end their almost a decade long wait for the Premier League title is for all to see, but we here at Soccersouls decided to go on some pre-summer scouting. Thus we present our readers with three signings Arsenal need for this coming summer and how the London side can fight in the Champions League and domestically with the weapons in their armory,

.

1. Blaise Matuidi

Blaise Matuidi

Even though Mathieu Flamini has done a decent job for Arsenal, still they miss a world class DM who can boss the midfield on his own. This is where PSG’s Blaise Matuidi comes into the picture. The French International is known for his hard tackles, good work rate and has brilliant vision coupled with dynamism on the ball. He’s worth an enquiry, and given the slightest glimmer of hope, PSG may sell their top midfielder for a right price.

2. Fabian Schar (FC Basel)

Fabian Schar

The Swiss defender may only be 21-years old, but he has already announced himself as a starter for FC Basel and impressed on the international stage in his national colours. Schar has been an integral part of the Basel side which beat Chelsea twice in this current season’s Champions League group stages.  The 6’1 towering defender is perhaps available in the coming summer and Arsenal must move quickly to fend off rivals if they are going to snap the young defender up. He might be available for a cheap transfer fee too which would certainly be a steal given his immense potential and skill on the ball and like Mohammed Salah (who moved to Chelsea in January), he may also end up playing for a top London club.

3. Mario Mandzukic (Bayern Munich)

It’s quite evident that Olivier Giroud on his own cannot charge Arsenal to the Premier League title.  If not an upgrade, Giroud at least needs some competition for his place.  We feel Mario Mandzukic would be a perfect fit in this Gunners side and with Bayern already announcing the pre contract agreement for Robert Lewandowski for next season, the Croatian’s time might well be over at the Bavarian club. A striker of his quality will surely improve Arsenal’s squad depth and bolster their attack up front and will give Wenger more options to select from. So, a move to premier league is a sensible option for this elegant goal poacher.
