Scouting £31m Rated Arsenal Target, The Next Sergio Aguero?

There always seems to be that one player who gets called the next big thing, the next Pele, the next Maradona, the next Zidane, nowadays it’s all about the next Messi or Ronaldo and it seems that there is one star rising in the league in the Serie A.

Paulo Dybala is one such rising star in the Palermo ranks, Dybala plays mostly as a striker for the Italian club and hails from the same region that brought out stars like Javier Pastore and Pablo Aimar.

He began his career by joining the youth system of Instituto de Cordoba, in the provincial capital.

Career History

He started his career off with Instituto in the second division in Argentina, the club were having a battle with the Buenos Aires giant team River Plate, who were playing their first ever season outside the top flight. Dybala scored 17 goals in the season for Instituto, including a couple of hat tricks.

Palermo was the club who signed the rising star for a price of 12 million euros. The Italian did not get a lot of game time in his first season but is now a first team regular and has scored 12 goals in 66 appearances for Palermo so far.

He is still to decide which international team to play for; he is eligible to play for Italy, Argentina and Poland, with Italy leading the chase for the highly coveted youngster.

Playing style

Dybala is being called the next Sergio Aguero and his playing style is very similar to the Manchester City striker. Dybala is a great finisher in the box and can play the role of a support striker; Dybala has great acceleration and finishing skills. He also can stretch defences with some great movement which is another key to his playing style.

There are a couple of weaknesses to his game though, he is prone to using his left foot a lot more than his weaker foot, Dybala also is only 176 cms in height and is a little lightweight, so he isn’t the best in terms of being a threat in the air or winning headers.

His passing ability and vision is something to take notice off as well, Dybala can pick out a pass and split defences with his passing ability although he is prone to laying the ball off and gifting possession back to the opposition. He is only 21 years old and still has time to grow and become the threat that everyone hopes he can be.

Possible future destination

If the youngster continues to keep performing well for the Italian club, he could be making a big move to any top European club in the near future. He is being tracked by Arsenal in their search for a top striker. According to the reports, £31m rated star could be heading to Emirates.
