Rojo And Martial To Start – Predicted 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Line-Up To Face Everton

Share

Jose Mourinho’s men managed to step into the semi-final of the League Cup this season with a comfortable victory over West Ham on Wednesday. However, they were able to take just a point from the previous round of the league against the same opponent and are languishing in the 6th place, 11 points off the top of the table, 13 games into the season. They face a tricky trip to the Goodison Park this weekend to take on Ronald Koeman’s men who have taken just a point from their previous 3 league fixtures. Mourinho is expected to play a strong team for this game and here is the predicted lineup that he might field on the night.

Team News:

The manager will miss the services of the defensive duo Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling for this trip to Everton. Wayne Rooney will miss this game through suspension while Luke Shaw remains the only other doubt for this game against Everton.

Formation: 4-2-3-1

David de Gea:

Though gave West Ham a way into the game in the League Cup, De Gea has been on the top of his game recently and should start this game against Everton.

Antonio Valencia:

Arguably the best player for United in the previous round, Valencia is becoming an important player for United and will start this game against Everton.

Phil Jones:

The first choice centre-back in the absence of key players, Phil Jones had a decent outing against West Ham in both the games and should keep his place in the side for this game.

Daley Blind:

The Dutch defender has also been in decent form at the back for United recently and should keep his place as a centre back for this game against Everton.

Marcos Rojo:

The Argentine has done a decent job as a part of the back-4 for Mourinho this season and should start this game on the wing against Everton.

Ander Herrera:

The Spanish midfielder has been superb this season for the Red Devils, controlling the tempo of the game and he should keep his place in the side for this trip to Liverpool.

Paul Pogba:

Showing some form recently, the French midfielder should start in a withdrawn role, alongside Herrera as he did against West Ham.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan:

An impressive performance in the League Cup against West Ham should earn the Armenian winger a place in the starting XI for this weekend.

Juan Mata:

The Spaniard scored the only goal for United against West Ham at the weekend and he should keep his place in the side for this game.

Anthony Martial:

The brace in the League Cup against West Ham showed what the French youngster can do on the field and it might be time for Mourinho to start him on the wing against Everton.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

Scoring a brace in the League Cup and Zlatan has now scored 11 goals in all competitions for United already and should start this game against Everton.
