The 16-year-youth is already making waves in the Killies’ U-18 squad.

Smith made his  Scotland U-16 debut last year. He also scored in the Scots’ win over Malta in March

Steven Gerrard, the Gers manager, wants the Scots teen at Ibrox, while the Sky Blues also remain steadfast.

It is reported that the Killies are keen on keeping Smith at Rugby Park.

In recent years, the Light Blues have built a reputation for nurturing and showing the way to young talents.

Furthermore, the Ibrox youth side also won the Scottish Youth League this season.

Exciting talents like Glenn Middleton have already made an impact in the Gers first-team and are poised for a great future.

Even the former Liverpool star has said the young players would definitely see the light of the day if they keep progressing.

Gerrard’s first season at Ibrox was highlighted by the Old Firm derby win.

Their recent signing was that of Motherwell winger Jake Hastie, who will join the squad in the pre-season camp.

However, the English gaffer couldn’t breach their arch-rivals Celtic’s reign in Scotland as he fell short of contention.

Yet, he has picked up momentum by winning four matches in a row before the Old Firm derby.
