Report: Manchester United Are The Favorites To Sign This Highly Rated Ex-Arsenal Star

Share

According to the latest reports from Spain, defending English champions Manchester United are planning to bring the former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song to Old Trafford in January.

After making his dream move to Barcelona a season back, Alex Song is struggling to get any consistent game time with the Tiki Taka team. With the likes of Sergio Busquets and Javier Mascherano in the team, Song was mostly used as a late sub in most of the games.  He has just played three games under the new Barcelona manager Tata Martino.

Moyes to sign Alex Song?

It is believed that Song had enough of this and is now ready to hand in a transfer request in January to force a move away from the Catalans.

David Moyes’ side are the clear favorites to get the 26-year-old’s signature in the winter window. Even with the addition of Marouane Fellaini in Summer, Moyes is still keen on bringing in a traditional defensive midfielder who can add more steel and stability to this United midfield.

Alex Song who has enough premier league experience (with Arsenal) fits the bill perfectly for the Red Devils. It is reported that a transfer fee of around 8 million pounds will do the trick for the champions to seal the deal for the midfield enforcer.
