Throughout the Summer transfer window, Arsenal were heavily linked with Real Madrid star Sami Khedira. Few reports suggested that the Gunners agreed a fee (£24M) with the Madrid club but the move got stalled because of the player’s huge wage demands.
Even though Khedira’s contract ends this Summer, Real Madrid announced Khedira would remain with them this season. Sami Khedira missed most of the last season due to a cruciate knee ligament injury. He came-back well and had a good World Cup in Brazil but unluckily, the German star is injured again and may miss up to 6 weeks of action. He suffered a muscle tear in his left thigh during the training session with his national side.
Now, Arsenal not signing Khedira seems justifiable as last thing they want is another injury prone player in the squad. Lucky escape for the gunners.
