Last week, few reports from Spain claimed that Chelsea have agreed a deal with Atletico Madrid to sign their target man Diego Costa for a transfer fee around £32 million.
Now, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo rubbished all these reports.
He said,
“Chelsea? We do not know when these [remaining] games are so important,”
“We do not want to destabilize the team and we can talk about this later. I can say that there is something, not officially, from another club regarding any of our players.
“They are not heading to any other team.
“If the question is “Is there an agreement for Costa,” then we have not heard anything.”
This should encourage Arsenal who are desperate to sign a natural goal scorer in Summer. Their strong financial situation means, they can even match the £50 million asking price for the Spanish forward. Reportedly, there is a chance for a swap deal too involving Olivier Giroud going the other way.
What do you guys think? should Arsenal swap Giroud for Costa? Post your opinions below on the comment section.
