According to the latest reports, Arsenal are about to reignite their interest in Athletico Madrid defender Juanfran.
It is believed that Arsenal made a bid for him in the Summer window but the player himself turned the offer down as he prefers more playing time in order to keep his world cup dreams alive.
Arsenal were ready to triple his current wages, but still could not persuade the former real Madrid man to join the gunners. Even though Juanfran’s newly extended contract will keep him at Madrid till 2017, Arsenal are not ready to give up on their target yet.
Juanfran said, as reported by the Daily Star:
“I want to thank the club and the coach all the confidence they have in me.
“I am very proud to wear this shirt and this coat for many years”.
It is believed that Arsenal will come up with another bid for their long term target after the World cup so that both the player and the club could be tempted to make the deal happen without any road blocks.
Scouting Juanfran,
Arsenal are also interested in signing Martin Montoya from Barcelona.
