Report: Arsenal In Pole Position To Sign World Class Striker Finally

Share

AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has been in Arsenal’s radar ever since the Gunners signed the contract with Puma with various reports suggesting that the kit manufacturer are ready to help them to land the Italian, who is also their brand ambassador. A striker signing, which Arsenal desperately need to challenge the likes of Chelsea and Man City looks imminent now as Arsene Wenger has reportedly given a green light to bring in the £27 million rated Mario Balotelli to the Emirates.

According to Metro, Wenger had seemed to privately rule it out a fortnight ago, fearing his attitude could ruin the dressing room, but has now apparently warmed to the idea. While it is sure that AC Milan might want to hold on to their main man, Arsenal and Wenger have the cash reserves to tempt the Italian side with a bigger offer.

Balotelli has been linked with Chelsea and few other European sides recently,  but it’s thought that Arsenal are in pole position to sign him if a fee can be agreed with Milan.

Further, Balotelli’s agent has suggested that his client might be interested to move to the London club after the World Cup. Quoted by the Guardian, he Said:

“Arsenal are a fantastic club,” Raiola told Sky Sports when questioned about reports in the British press linking Balotelli with a move to London.

“Only eight or 10 clubs in the world can afford Mario Balotelli – like all premium players, and he is one of the greatest.” As to whether the move will happen, he said: “Anything is possible.”

The striker is currently in Brazil gearing up for Italy’s Group D match against Costa Rica on Friday.
