Rangers News: Mally McKay has handpicked two Rangers youngsters who he considers as the future of Scottish football while speaking to the Scottish Sun (h/t Rangers News).
After watching Scotland’s U-19 contest against Spain last week, the sporting director has been highly impressed by several young players, including a couple from the Gers. They were none other than Glenn Middleton and Dapo Mebude.
Middleton was signed till 2023 has already made 26 appearances across all the competitions. And the winger has scored five goals and provided four assists thus far.
On the other hand, Mebude is yet to make his breakthrough in the first squad under Steven Gerrard.
Besides the two youngsters, Mckay was also in praise of another two prospects Billy Gilmour and Lewis Hornby (h/t Rangers News):
“Billy is a big talent but he is one of many at various levels that we want to push forward.
“Glenn Middleton at Rangers and Lewis Hornby from Everton are two others that immediately come to mind.”
Horny plays as a striker for Everton’s Premier League 1 Division 2 side has made 11 appearances and waiting for a first-team call.
Gilmour spent his youth career mostly at Gers and joined Chelsea in 2017. The midfielder soon signed a professional contract the following year.
