Raheem Sterling pokes fun at Phil Jones after posting pictures on Twitter

Manchester City star Raheem Sterling is one of the best players in the world.

The 25-year-old has improved massively since leaving Liverpool and won two Premier League crowns with the Cityzens.

Sterling was already a quality player before coming under Pep Guardiola but has improved leaps and bounds over the past 18 months or so.

The England international scored 25 goals for City last season and already has 15 in this campaign. Sterling holds a huge following on social media too and has spoken about several serious issues in the past.

His family has been one aspect he has highlighted and also the major issue about racism in football.

However, the Englishman did have some fun with a recent post. Sterling shared a set of images where he made a less than flattering face during a game.

The Cityzens were playing Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League. Guardiola’s men easily won 4-1 thanks to a Gabriel Jesus hat-trick, but Sterling’s picture on Twitter was hilarious, to say the least.

Calling Dr Jones

For those not in the know, Phil Jones has a history of making weird faces on the pitch.

The Manchester United defender has played with Sterling in the England national team, and he should have seen the funny side of the joke.

United have struggled since the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and are fighting to make it into the top four.

However, City have been far from their best in this campaign. Sterling might be firing on all cylinders but his team isn’t.

They lie 17 points behind Liverpool, with a game in hand, and have already lost four Premier League games this season.

City don’t look as unbeatable as they did last season. However, their attack is still the best in the Premier League.

The Champions League title should be the aim for City now. The Cityzens have the ability to win that crown for the first time, but they need Sterling to keep scoring the goals for the remainder of the campaign.
