Projected Finish Positions Of The London Clubs: Arsenal To Finish Top, Chelsea In Top 10, And More

With five teams from London and four of them actually doing well, it is a great time for the capital clubs and with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea (yes, a London club) not doing all that well, it could be that another club gets into the European places.

With 16 games left in the Premier League, we look ahead and predict the finishing positions of the clubs from London.

Arsenal – 1^st    

Arsenal have the best chance of breaking their decade-long drought of not winning the Premier League this time around. They are the best side in the league and only a few tough away games could stand in their way of picking up a Premier League crown. Mesut Ozil has been on fire this season and with a fit Alexis Sanchez coming back into the side and the likes of Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin and Jack Wilshere to return to first team action, it has to be the Gunners that ends up coming first, anything less and it would be a disappointment for the fans and the manager as well.

Tottenham – 3^rd

Spurs have a young and vibrant manager plus their team is also playing some great football. Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea don’t look all that good at the moment and Leicester should fall away from the position they currently keep. Tottenham might be playing in the FA Cup and the Europa League but their aim will be a top four finish and participation in the UEFA Champions League. If they can keep Harry Kane fit for the rest of the season, they will surely get into the top four if not the top three.

West Ham – 6^th

Slaven Bilic might not have had the best start for the Hammers seeing them exit from the Europa League group stages but that has been a learning experience for the Croatian and he should be able to get them back into the top six come the end of the season. While the top four is a mile away for the Hammers, they have played really well, even gotten a double over Liverpool. If they can keep the likes of Valencia, Carroll and Payet fit till the end of the season, West Ham should finish as the third highest London based team.

Crystal Palace – 9^th

Alan Pardew’s side started really well but that has gone off a little bit in the second half of the season. The Eagles though should be able to finish in the top half at least come the end of the season. They just need to bring someone who can score a few goals for them, their striking woes is the reason they would actually finish this low. They do have a few tough games to play which will be a factor for their slide down the table but a top half finish would be a great achievement for Pardew and company.

Chelsea – 10^th

For all the Chelsea fans this has been a season to forget, we won’t be dwelling on the sacking of Jose Mourinho but the return of Guus Hiddink should have turned a lot of things around. Chelsea though are still vulnerable as seen in the 3-3 draw against Everton. Their best bet of any silverware could be the FA Cup or the Champions League, we all remember Roberto Di Matteo winning good old big ears a few years back and Hiddink could be looking to do just that, thus their league position won’t get any better.
