Predicting Manchester United Line Up Next Season If Mourinho Manages To Sign This Armenian International

Share

Jose Mourinho has already left his mark at Manchester United since taking over, by signing a high quality defender in the form of Eric Bailly from La Liga outfit Villarreal, as it was confirmed recently. The Portuguese boss got a good bargain for his target, despite not being able to offer the Ivory Coast international Champions League football, in the upcoming campaign.

Now that the problem of adding a defender is solved, the former Real Madrid and Chelsea boss will try to sign more attacking options for his squad, with Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan being linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent times.

The 27 year old Armenia international was also wanted by the club’s fierce rivals Arsenal, though it is still not certain what his final decision about his future will be, as the top clubs in Europe are quite keen on strengthening their squads.

If the attacker does indeed move to The Theater of Dreams, he would be a great addition to the current squad and might find a regular place for himself in the starting eleven, with United struggling for goals for a good spell of time in the previous campaign.

Mourinho would not want to make the same mistakes that his “old friend” Louis van Gaal made at the club, prior to being sacked by the United hierarchy and will look to improve his squad as much as he can, with the players going in and out of the club.

As per recent reports, Spanish midfielder Juan Mata is on the verge of an exit from United after the arrival of his former boss, with the two not really fond of each other. This would mean that a place in the starting eleven would be up for grabs, which the United stars looking to impress the new manager should strive for.

Further, when Mkhitaryan does come into the side, he could grab this spot on the right-wing and could be used as part of the team on a regular basis, as shown above. The Dortmund man could be a major threat for any opposition, if he can combine well with right-back Darmian and his other team-mates, up front.

His passing, dribbling and skills on the ball are quite a treat to watch and if United play defence-oriented football under Mourinho, he could be a great option for quick counter-attacking play, as well. With quite a few good years left for the player to give, this could be the perfect time for him to move to England, as he is quite experienced right now and can play at the top level.

Hopefully, he can just adjust to the style of play of football in the Premier League and is tough enough to withstand the challenges that await in on English soil.
