Star Returns To The Starting XI – Projected 4-2-3-1 Wolves Line-Up To Face Brighton

Predicted Wolverhampton Wanderers Lineup To Face Brighton And Hove Albion

Brighton arrive at Molineux this week looking to move another step closer to the Premier League. 3 wins in a row has moved them back to the top of the division with just 5 games to go.

Wolves had won 5 in a row themselves before losing at Bristol City recently, but home turf and the possible return of Helder Costa gives them a great chance here. Paul Lambert seems to be fairly optimistic on the subject of Costa’s injury and on the assumption he can play, he will probably start for Wolves against Brighton.

Expected Starting XI:

Manager: Paul Lambert

Formation: 4-2-3-1

GK – Andy Lonergan

Still going strong at 33, Lonergan has plenty of experience in this league and could keep his place in goal.

RB – Conor Coady

The Liverpool lad genuinely looks like he’s found his calling in this position. Another shift at right-back looks to be on the cards and he can provide great attacking support for Costa.

CB – Danny Batth

Another one who has come of age, the 26-year-old is captain these days and is relishing his role. His main task will be to help Hause through this game as he may well have more time marking Glenn Murray.

CB – Kortney Hause

The younger of Wolves’ blossoming centre-back partnership, Hause, as mentioned, may well have the wily Glenn Murray to look after and will need to be at the top of his game.

LB – Matt Doherty

Likely to be in direct contact with Anthony Knockaert, the right-footed defender will have to watch his step in what is a key battle on the left of Wolves’ defensive line.

CM – Dave Edwards

If he is able to get forward from this position more than last time, he can still be a huge threat to the Brighton goal, as well as marshalling his midfield.

CM – Lee Evans

The young Welshman is striking up a partnership with Edwards and should continue in the engine room.

RW – Helder Costa

It will be a huge boost to Wolves if the Portuguese star can play. Their main goal scoring threat; Costa is tricky and will give the Brighton left-back a torrid time if he starts.

CAM – Andreas Weimann

Being buffeted around the front 4, Weimann may retain his place as he has obvious quality. But this time he may start behind the striker.

LW – Ben Marshall

The former Blackburn man is admired by Paul Lambert and will no doubt retain his place.

ST – Nouha Dicko

The goalscoring hero from the Nottingham Forest game may once again play right up front here. A better supply line with Costa in the side could see him back on the score sheet again in a massive game.
