Predicted West Ham United Line-up To Face Tottenham In The Premier League

West Ham United will look to continue their resurgent run of form, when they take on London rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the game-week 6 of the Premier League, at the London Stadium, on Saturday.

The Hammers, after enduring a poor start to the season, managed to get things back on track somewhat, defeating Huddersfield Town at home, before drawing away at West Bromwich Albion last weekend. The midweek 3-0 win over Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup will further boost the confidence of Slaven Bilic’s side, coming into Saturday’s encounter.

Team News

Defender James Collins and playmaker Manuel Lanzini are sure to miss out due to injuries. Midfield mainstay Pedro Obiang too is a major doubt for the clash against Spurs, while young Edimilson Fernandes too is touch and go to feature on Saturday.

Here’s how the Irons could take the field against Mauricio Pochettino’s brigade:

Manager: Slaven Bilic

Formation: 3-4-3

Joe Hart (GK)

The England international will come back into the playing XI after sitting out of the midweek encounter against Bolton.

Joe Hart

Jose Fonte (CB)

The veteran Portuguese was given some much-needed rest in the midweek game and should be fresh coming into the game against Spurs.

Winston Reid (CB)

The New Zealand international wasn’t a part of the matchday squad on Tuesday night, but should slot back in at the heart of the defence on Saturday.

Angelo Ogbonna (CB)

With James Collins unavailable, Ogbonna is set to feature as the third centre-half for the Hammers. Scored in the midweek, but will have a difficult test against Spurs’ attack.

Pablo Zabaleta (RWB)

Another player who was granted a day off against Bolton, the veteran defender should start at right wing-back, with Sam Byram set to make way.

Cheikou Kouyate

Cheikhou Kouyate (CM)

The Senegalese international provides the legs and the energy in the middle of the park for the Hammers. Should get his place in the starting XI.

Declan Rice (CM)

Obiang’s unavailability opens up a space in the midfield. While captain Mark Noble is fit and available, he did not look convincing in the opening games and as a result, Bilic should go with youngster Declan Rice, who has given a good account of himself.

Arthur Masuaku (LWB)

The 23-year old had a brilliant game in the midweek, where he even found the back of the net. Should be retained ahead of Aaron Cresswell.

Javier Hernandez

Michail Antonio (RF)

The pacey wide-man was another player who wasn’t used in Tuesday’s game, but should come back into the line-up on the right flank.

Andy Carroll (ST)

The big man has looked sharp since his return from injury and can be a nuisance with his physicality at the top. Should start at the top of the attack.

Javier Hernandez (LF)

Has struck up a decent understanding with Carroll and should occupy the slot of the left-sided forward, ahead of Marko Arnautovic, who played the full 90 minutes on Tuesday.
