Alfie Mawson And Tammy Abraham To Start – Strongest 4-3-3 Swansea City Lineup To Take On Manchester United

Predicted Swansea City Lineup To Face Manchester United In The Premier League

Swansea City will welcome table toppers Manchester United to the Liberty Stadium, in match-week 2 of the 2017/18 Premier League, on Saturday afternoon.

The Swans played out a goalless draw in their season opener against Southampton last week, away at St. Mary’s and manager Paul Clement will be keen on improving, what was a subdued performance. United, on the other hand, come into the game after thrashing West Ham United 4-0 and the Welsh club will be aware of the challenge that Jose Mourinho’s men will present.

Team News

Striker Fernando Llorente has returned to training, but won’t be a part of the matchday squad for Saturday. Winger Nathan Dyer and midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung are the other definite absentees for Clement’s side against United.

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Paul Clement

Lukasz Fabianski (GK)

Started off the season with a clean sheet, but will have to be at his imperious best against the United attack, if he is to add another.

Kyle Naughton (RB)

The former Tottenham Hotspur man will be tested strongly by the pace and power of the young Marcus Rashford. Needs to be on his toes all the time.

Federico Fernandez (CB)

The Argentine centre-half will keep his place in the lineup. Will have his hands full dealing with the threat of Romelu Lukaku.

Alfie Mawson

Alfie Mawson (CB)

Was picked ahead of Kyle Bartley in the season opener and it is unlikely to see Clement drop him for the clash against United.

Martin Olsson (LB)

The Swede is definitely one of the first names on the team sheet. Offers a great deal of threat going forward down the left flank.

Leroy Fer (CM)

The Dutchman is another sure starter for the Swans, as he provides them with the power and the drive from the midfield.

Leon Britton (CM)

The captain is likely to start once again in the defensive midfield position, ahead of summer acquisition Roque Mesa.

Tom Carroll left Tottenham to join Swansea.

Tom Carroll (CM)

The final slot in central midfield will be taken up by January recruit Tom Carroll. The former Tottenham man has developed into an integral part of the team since his move from White Hart Lane.

Jordan Ayew (RW)

The Ghanaian attacker wasn’t able to find goals regularly for the club last season. Will need to change that this time around.

Tammy Abraham (ST)

The loan signing from Chelsea will start at the top of the attack, with Llorente still not available. Could prove to be a handful on his day.

Wayne Routledge (LW)

The left-hand side of the attacking trident will be taken up by Wayne Routledge. The 32-year old is one of the most experienced in the Swans’ squad and will need to step up this campaign.

This is how Swansea may take the field:
