Brady And Defour To Start – Strongest 4-3-3 Burnley Lineup To Face West Bromwich Albion

Predicted Burnley Lineup To Face West Bromwich Albion In The Premier League

Burnley will welcome Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion to the Turf Moor on Saturday, in match-week two of the Premier League 2017/18.

The Clarets started off the new campaign with a bang, defeating title holders Chelsea 3-2 at the Stamford Bridge in their season opener. Manager Sean Dyche will be hoping to build on that display and add three more points to their tally against the Baggies. Their strong home record from last season should infuse them with confidence to go out and win the game on Saturday.

Team News

The only injury absentee for the Clarets is midfielder Dean Marney who is unlikely to return to action for another two months owing to his Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury from last season.

Manager: Sean Dyche

Formation: 4-3-3

Tom Heaton (GK)

The 30-year old England international is the captain of the team and the No.1 choice in goal. No change expected here.

Matthew Lowton (RB)

The Englishman offers a good outlet going forward down the right-hand side, while also rendering some solidity in defence. Sure to start.

James Tarkowski (CB)

The 26-year old was preferred ahead of Kevin Long for the opener against Chelsea. Very much likely to retain his spot in the playing XI.

Ben Mee (CB)

Tarkowksi will be partnered in the heart of the defence by Ben Mee. The former Manchester City man had a solid season last year and will be hoping for more of the same this time around as well.

Stephen Ward (LB)

The Republic of Ireland international had a great game against Chelsea and was a great threat going forward. Should retain his place ahead of summer arrival Charlie Taylor.

Jeff Hendrick (CM)

The 25-year old Irishman has established himself as a pivotal member in his one year at the Turf Moor and is expected to start against the Baggies.

Jack Cork (CM)

The summer arrival had a good game against the Premier League champions last weekend. Expect him to start again as the deepest of the central midfielders.

Steven Defour (CM)

Enjoying a fine resurrection at the Turf Moor after it looked certain that he would leave. Offers great technical quality and will take the third midfield spot.

Johann Berg-Gudmundsson (RW)

The Icelandic international started the game on the right-hand side ahead of new signing Jonathan Walters and could once again get the nod ahead of the Irishman.

Sam Vokes (ST)

Last season’s top scorer kicked off the new campaign with a bang, grabbing a double against Chelsea last weekend. A definite starter ahead of Ashley Barnes.

Robbie Brady (LW)

The Irish international is finally looking settled at the Turf Moor after his move in January earlier this year. Will feature on the left-hand side of the attacking trio.
