Nugent And New Signing To Start – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Derby County Lineup To Face Bolton Wanderers

Derby County

Predicted Derby County Lineup To Face Bolton Wanderers In The EFL Championship

The Rams may just be properly finding their feet now and could be encouraged by some new signings before the weekend action at Bolton Wanderers.

Tom Lawrence has now finally signed from Leicester and he is a massive signing for the club. He is a complete game changer who now gives this line-up a title-challenging look about it.

As for this game, assuming Lawrence is ready to go, then the boss may line up in a 4-2-3-1 again using the following personnel:

Manager: Gary Rowett

Formation: 4-2-3-1

GK – Scott Carson

Quietly going about his business these days, the ex-Liverpool man will start once again between the sticks and shouldn’t be letting anyone down.

RB – Andre Wisdom

Another former Red and a solid proposition at full-back, he’ll offer decent support for Russell as well as getting about his defensive duties.

CB – Richard Keogh

I wasn’t certain he’d start this season in the XI but he continues to go well and is a good foil for Davies.

Andre Wisdom

CB – Curtis Davies

A solid signing from Hull City and one who could definitely still perform in the Premier League. The likes of Madine and Armstrong may not get too much change out of him.

LB – Marcus Olsson

The Swede, much like Keogh, has been solid if unspectacular and keeps performing to the required standard.  Another start is on the cards for him here.

CM – Bradley Johnson

He’s made a good start to the season and is one of those now, giving Derby a much more settled and solid look.  Johnson should once again partner Huddlestone in a midfield which Bolton will likely struggle to break through.

CM – Tom Huddlestone

The former Hull man, much like Davies, is another one who could perform at the top level and that is exactly what Derby need if they are to be promoted.

Tom Huddlestone

RW – Johnny Russell

He’s played in various positions but I like him starting on the right and cutting in. He’s no Tom Ince perhaps but with Lawrence now coming in on the other side, the impact of Ince’s sale is reduced.

CAM – Matej Vydra

Something tells me he could really come good this term, playing behind the striker, and in fact scored the winning penalty in midweek.

LW – Tom Lawrence

Excellent when playing in this sort of position for Ipswich while he was on loan last season in the Championship. He could be the final piece in the Derby jigsaw.

ST – David Nugent

Not prolific perhaps but one who will bring others into play, something crucial given that the three playing behind him are all capable of getting goals.
