Swansea City will take a trip to the Selhurst Park this weekend, as they gear up to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday.
The Swans have managed just a point from two games so far this season, drawing their opener against Southampton, before being hammered 4-0 by Manchester United last weekend. However, they did manage to bounce back from the mauling, with a 4-1 triumph over MK Dons in the second round of the EFL Cup. Manager Paul Clement will be hoping his side carry the confidence to the game against the Eagles, as Palace are yet to register a point in the Premier League.
Defender Kyle Bartley picked up a knee injury against MK Dons on Tuesday and is likely to be unavailable for the trip to Palace. Star striker Fernando Llorente has returned to training, but may not yet be risked by the manager. Club captain Leon Britton is also a slight doubt due to his back problems. Nathan Dyer and Ki Sung-Yeung remain the long-term absentees.
The Polish stopper was rested for the cup tie, but should be reinstated in the starting XI, with Kristoffer Nordfeldt dropping to the bench.
Another one who did not play any part on Tuesday night, the former Tottenham Hotspur man will come into the playing XI in the place of Angel Rangel.
The Argentine will return to the starting lineup for the clash against Palace, with Mike van der Hoorn dropping out. Will have his hands full with the threat of Christian Benteke.
With Kyle Bartley out injured, Alfie Mawson will be the man to partner Fernandez in the heart of the defence.
The only member of the backline that started on Tuesday who will retain his place on Saturday, Olsson will be Clement’s preferred left-back.
With Leon Britton a doubt, new signing Roque Mesa should get his third consecutive start for the Swans, at the base of the midfield.
The 23-year old is seeing quite a lot of playing time this season under Clement. Should retain his place in the midfield.
The January signing has become a key member of the Swansea team. His ability to drift out on the left flank and hit delectable crosses into the box will be key.
The Dutchman grabbed a brace on Tuesday night and will look to continue in the same vein of form on Saturday. Will start as the No.10.
Another plyer who got on the scoresheet on Tuesday, the Ghanaian has started the season brightly and would want to add another goal to his tally, against the Eagles.
Now that he is off the mark, having scored his first goal for the club, against MK Dons, he will be more confident coming into Saturday’s game. Expect him to cause some troubles.
