Predicted Rangers Line-up To Face Aberdeen In The Scottish Premiership

The first part of Rangers’ doubleheader with Aberdeen could not have gone better, with Graeme Murty’s side storming to a 3-0 win at Ibrox. They now travel to Pittodrie, looking to double up. Another win at the weekend would take them above their hosts and into second place in the league; a position they didn’t think they’d be in, just a couple of weeks ago.

Bruno Alves returned in midweek and with all forgiven and forgotten among certain parties, he may play again.  Graham Dorrans and Lee Wallace are still missing through injury, along with top scorer Alfredo Morelos, who may well have been dropped anyway.

The 4-3-1-2 of sorts worked well the other night and will probably be employed again:

Formation: 4-3-1-2

Manager: Graeme Murty

GK – Wes Foderingham

Looks set to continue in goal. One thing you can’t complain against him is an injury record or any lack of consistency.

RB – James Tavernier

Came storming back to goalscoring form against this opposition on Wednesday with two strikes including a penalty and is certain to go into this with terrific confidence.

James Tavernier

CB – Bruno Alves

Purely on a playing level if nothing else, it’s a major positive to have him back in the defence and Aberdeen may struggle to get past the big Portuguese.

CB – Danny Wilson

Had been partnering McCrorie at the back but is versatile and gets on with things with the minimum of fuss.

LB – Declan John

Likes to get forward and that’ll be an important part of this game – the overlap.

CM – Ryan Jack

Seems just as happy playing on the right of a midfield three and will relish the trip to his hometown to play against his former side.

CM – Ross McCrorie

Provides an extra layer of defence in this position and did well the other night.

Ryan Jack

CM – Jason Holt

The former Hearts man is enjoying being back in the side and keeps improving each week.

CAM – Carlos Pena

Back in the fold and score the other night. He plays in an awkward position, for the Aberdeen defence to pick up, and will be hoping to add to his tally.

ST – Kenny Miller

The evergreen striker keeps on going and will almost certainly line up again at Pittodrie.

ST – Ryan Hardie

Josh Windass played in this role the other night and may do so again. However, there is a chance Murty might want to throw the young man in from the start as he would be the unknown quantity for the Dons to deal with.
