Predicted Leicester City Line-up To Face West Bromwich Albion In The Premier League

Leicester City will look to get their season back on track when they take on West Bromwich Albion in gameweek 8 of the Premier League, at the King Power Stadium on Monday night.

The Foxes find themselves languishing at 17th position in the league table after seven rounds of fixtures, having accumulated just 5 points. Before the international break, they played out a goalless draw against Bournemouth and manager Craig Shakespeare will be hoping to turn things around against Tony Pulis’ Baggies on Monday.

Team News

There are a number of injury issues for the manager to contend with as midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is set to miss out due to a hamstring injury he picked during national duty with Nigeria, while left-back Ben Chilwell is also likely to be unavailable due to a knee problem. Robert Huth is yet to reach full fitness while midfielder Matty James is unlikely to return until the last week of October, as he recovers from his Achilles problem.

Here’s how Leicester could line up against West Brom at the King Power:

Manager: Craig Shakespeare

Formation: 4-4-2

Kasper Schmeichel (GK)

The 30-year old Dane has managed just 2 clean sheets in 7 league games this season and will be intent on adding another one to his tally come Monday.

Danny Simpson (RB)

The former Newcastle United man hasn’t been his usual consistent self at right-back for the Foxes. Will need to step up more.

Kasper Schmeichel

Wes Morgan (CB)

The club captain has been solid as a rock at the heart of the defence and looks set for another start against the Baggies.

Harry Maguire (CB)

Has been one of Leicester’s better players this season, following his summer move from Hull City. Will partner Morgan in the backline.

Christian Fuchs (LB)

An ever-present in the Foxes’ defence, Fuchs has been consistent as ever at left-back and will look to continue in a similar vein against West Brom.

Riyad Mahrez (RM)

The Algerian wide-man did not start the previous league game against Bournemouth, but is definitely going to be reinstated to the playing XI for Monday’s encounter.

Riyad Mahrez

Vicente Iborra (CM)

With the number of injuries in the midfield for the Foxes, summer signing Vicente Iborra could be set to make his first league start of the season.

Andy King (CM)

The long-serving midfielder was hauled off at half-time against the Cherries in the previous game, but due to the lack of options at the manager’s disposal, he should start on Monday.

Marc Albrighton (LM)

The workhorse of the Leicester City side, Albrighton will move back to left flank, after having featured on the right-hand side against Bournemouth.

Jamie Vardy (right)

Shinji Okazaki (ST)

The industrious Japanese forward is a favourite of the manager owing to his excellent work ethic. Should start again, ahead of summer acquisition Kelechi Iheanacho.

Jamie Vardy (ST)

The England international has already netted 5 times in 7 games this season, despite having had a few injury issues. Will look to add more goals to his tally and fire his team to a win against the Baggies.
