Rangers Player Ratings vs Aberdeen

Rangers were beaten 1-0 by Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup as the loss ensured the Gers’ seven-year wait for a trophy continued. Aberdeen were on the back foot for much of the game but duly converted their chance to clinch the victory via Lewis Ferguson.

Steven Gerrard’s side struggled to create clear-cut opportunities and the manager will rue a couple of missed chances as well, as his side were knocked out of the cup.

Rangers Player Ratings

Allan McGregor (6/10)

The goalkeeper made a couple of decent saves but was unable to do anything about Ferguson’s goal.

James Tavernier

James Tavernier (5/10)

Not the best game for Tavernier who often looked troubled and had a hard time tracking back as well.

Connor Goldson (6/10)

Had his good and bad moments in the game. He was impressive in the first half but was very shaky with his defensive work in the second.

Joe Worrall (6/10)

Worrall was good with his passing but was often caught out of position and was troubled by the opposition down the flanks.

Jon Flanagan (5/10)

Was easily beaten today. Flanagan didn’t provide much going forward either.

Ovie Ejaria (5/10)

Gave away the ball cheaply on many occasions and barely managed to threaten.

Ryan Jack (5/10)

His passing was wayward and Jack slowed down the counters as well.

Lassana Coulibaly (5/10)

Made one or two important tackles but was easily taken on. His defensive work rate wasn’t great either. Wasted a very good scoring chance too.

Ryan Kent (6/10)

Looked lively at times and his passing was good in the final third. But there was just no end product from the team.

Ryan Kent

Daniel Candeias (7/10)

Candeias was the Rangers’ best performer on the night. He came close to finding the back of the net but was unfortunate not to do so.

Sadiq (4/10)

Poor performance from Sadiq. Didn’t get anything right on the night.

Substitutes

Scott Arfield (5/10)

Came on an played out a couple of simple passes in the middle of the park. He didn’t have much effect apart from that.
