Leeds continued their search for a winning formula as they travelled to out-of-form Preston on Tuesday Night. At half-time, the men from Yorkshire led through Kemar Roofe after good work from Kalvin Phillips to set up his teammate.
However, early in the second-half, Preston got back in the game after Vurnon Anita conceded a penalty that was converted by Paul Gallagher, who later assisted Sean Macguire to put North End in the lead. As the game progressed Alan Browne got a goal to put the game beyond all doubt. It was a disappointing game for Leeds as their season fizzles out.
Couldn’t do anything about the penalty but would have been disappointed with the second goal.
Stuart Dallas is a really hard worker and put in another shift for his team. Had a pass completion rate of 70%.
Suffered an injury after 57 minutes and was replaced by Hugo Diaz but the leader of this team was not able to make a positive impact.
In only his second game for Leeds, O’Connor did what he could but he was unable to keep the Preston attackers out in the second half.
Conceded the penalty to turn the game in Preston’s favour. Not a good game for the former Newcastle player.
Had a lot of the ball for his team but was overran in midfield too often and provided little support defensively.
Played well early on and weaved into the box in the 13th minute to set up Kemar Roofe. However, he was not able to stop the second-half Preston onslaught.
Took a positive approach at times but gave the ball away too much and was replaced by Alioski in the 68th minute.
Took his goal very well to settle the early Leeds nerves but faded as the game went on. Was replaced by Samuel Saiz as the game progressed.
Hernandez has real quality and Leeds will want to keep hold of him in the summer. However, he didn’t do enough to affect this game when the chances went against them.
Held up the ball well at times but had very little support.
Did his best to fill the heroic shoes left by the injured Pontus Jansson.
Has had better days in a Leeds shirt but offered Heckingbottom a different option.
Didn’t have too much time to make a real impact on the game but when he did, he wasted his chances.
