Former Manchester City and United striker Carlos Tevez who is plying his trade with Serie A side Juventus has found himself in the middle of yet another intense rivalry clash. The Argentine striker was under severe scrutiny when he made a switch across Manchester to join the noisy neighbours and his antics following their maiden Premier League title, Tevez is no stranger to such things.
When Juventus faced Torino in the season’s first Derby della Mole, Tevez was promptly given a welcome in the form of an ankle-crushing slide tackle by his opposite number Ciro Immobile. However, Tevez continued to play the remaining part of the game and also assisted Paul Paogba’s goal which was eventually the match winner.
Following the derby win, Juve’s manager Antonio Conte was furious that only a yellow card was awarded to Ciro. Juventu’s official website reported that:
“During the first half of the Serie A encounter with Torino, Carlos Tevez sustained a lacerated and contused wound on his right ankle. The striker’s condition will continue to be assessed over the coming hours, but he remains a serious doubt for Wednesday night’s Champions League game against Galatasaray.”
And Tevez on his part in response to Torino’s complaint about Pogba’s controversial goal, tweeted this image which when roughly translated means: “We always win because of the help we get. I guess that’s why I’m now in this condition. And only a yellow card for the person who nearly broke my ankle.”
