Silvestre has joined Milan on a 1-year loan from Inter. Milan have paid €1m for the loan, and the buy-out clause is set at €4m for full ownership of the Argentinian central defender.

Silvestre will travel to New York on Friday with the rest of the Milan squad in order to participate in the International Champions Cup

The 28-year-old Argentine who has failed to live up to the expectations at Inter has joined their rivals Milan as a replacement to injured 32-year old defender Daniele Bonera.

Talking about Matias, Allegri was quick to praise the new signing, while pointing out that his team tends to take a more conservative approach in the transfer market.

“Although we generally don’t tend to be in a hurry to sign players, Silvestre is a great player,” he stated in a press conference.
