Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was seen among the south London crowd to watch the Tennis action unfold as he took some time off football ahead of his team’s clash against London rivals Arsenal at the weekend.
The 53 year old was seen alongside Barcelona defender Gerard Pique at the O2 arena as he watched the likes of Novak Djokovic and Chelsea fan and Austrian tennis ace Dominic Thiem compete in a spirited display in which the Serbian eventually came out triumphant out of three sets.
A relaxed Jose, who was twice manager of London-club Chelsea lived in London for a while and is believed to still own property in the capital. He was seen calm and cheerful as he treated himself to enjoying a pulsating battle of tennis; Jose even took kindly to the audience, engaging in conversations and photographs.
The Red Devils manager will be preparing for a lunchtime showdown as Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal visit Old Trafford on Saturday. The London outfit is currently in fourth position, but Jose’s record against Wenger is respectably impressive. Despite being placed at sixth and six points away from Arsenal in eleven games Jose knows the season is still new and a few strings of good performances would put his side back into title contention.
Jose will be looking to use his time off football to refresh his mind and get the best out of his players, most of who are currently on international duty, in a much anticipated game against the gunners.
